Narendra Singh Negi is one of the famous folk singer, writers of Garhwal. Negi Ji not just an entertainer but an artist, musician, and poet, who is very passionate and sensitive.

Narender Singh Negi was born on 12 August 1949 in Pauri village (Uttarakhand) of the Pauri district. He started his career in Pauri and till now he has sung songs in many big countries around the world. Over time, the new singers also joined the "Garhwal Music Industry". But despite the new voices of the new singers, the entire Uttarakhand still listens to their songs with the same love and respect. The important thing in Negi's songs are their lyrics that hold the people of Uttarakhand. Through the lyrics and voice of his songs, he has depicted all aspects of misery-pain, happiness, the life of Uttarakhandi people. He has sung all kinds of Uttarakhandi folk songs without hurting the feelings and respect of any folk song. Negi is a well-known singer among resident singers as well as non-resident singers. Uttarakhand has garnered every single hit of Negi Ji to gather many supporters along with its folklore collection. He was awarded the award several times for his impressive songs.

Negi started his music career with the Garhwali Geetmala and the "Garhwali Geetmala" was in 10 different parts. As if this Garhwali Geetmala was from different companies, due to which Negi Ji had to face some problems. So he began to release his Cassettes under a different name. He named the first album, title Burans, which is a well-known and beautiful flower found in the mountains. Negi has released the highest number of Garhwali superhit albums so far. He has also lent his voice in many Garhwali films such as "Chakrachal", "Gharjawani", "Meri Ganga Holi Ma Maa Aali" etc. Negi has sung more than 1000 songs so far. He has been awarded the award on various occasions throughout the world. After a long time, Akashvani, Lucknow has recognized Negi Ji as one of the most popular folk songwriters along with 10 other artists and was awarded the award.
